I have a problem with people being made mods so quickly.  Is Jack Tripper a moderator, I think I remember seeing that, no one told me must be a secret handshake thing admin.

What does me moderating "The Muse" section of the forum have to do with anything?

& yes there must of been a secret handshake as well as NWO stamped gold bars passed for such a (in your eyes) powerful thing to go down without anyone asking or telling you about it first.

if you talk now AS & FOR Kambo, son
you're voice on this thread has turned me off
& many others i would bet to considering Kambo
Luckily I know better in regards to the befits of the medicine you have chosen to identify yourself with.
If used with respect.

You should speak for yourself , maybe find some humility, maybe some compassion for others.....
Its clearly time to wake up & check that EGO behind the keyboard friend & fellow traveler.

Kampum I see my earlier (Deleted) comments have done nothing but fire you up. Perhaps I was to harsh but i stand by what i said. I have witnessed you shred people to pieces with a keyboard on this forum many times for asking the same question more than once, maybe looking for more info than what YOU have to offer or your point of view on given subject. Is it wrong to pursue more feedback than Kampum's on ?

I write these words with no claim to any sort of authority or other silliness based on my time here or my experience with Ibo, both are very limited. I am a humble novice as far as Iboga goes. I respect it.

I will drop this because its not the place or time & seems unhealthy for the Forum, IMO, but know Kampum when you decide to shred people for asking questions, others do take notice.
We all still have much to learn.
Are you planting seeds or ripping branches from a tree to beat other humans with?

KP its called freedom of expression.
& as far as what i said about you KP i am just calling it like i see it.

if only y'all knew my actual practice you would have some decent respect.

maybe so but i'd bet it hasn't all been as pretty as you would like to believe or have others believe.
All i know is what i see you write on this forum & a lot of it is negative & comes off all knowing & self righteous.
 Maybe its just me.............maybe

the fact that my comment was removed after criticizing  Kampum for his hypocrisy & calling him out for his ego based comments, I believe shows that he has no business Moderating anything on this forum.

General Discussion / Re: legal liability for sitting

Honestly i would avoid this situation  ddraig
desperation is not good enough of a reason to take Ibogaine.
Everytime i have had someone rush the situation, it has ended with the not so desired results.
Ibogaine is NOT a cure or a magic bullet, if the person goes into it thinking that there life will be fixed by a Flood
7 out of 10 times they are disappointed at the least & sometimes even worse can come from the experience.
Iboga is a tool not a fix it all.
It did work to very well to get me off of Methadone in Jan 2013 but I researched & worked my ass off for 2 years before i took it.
& i suggest you have him wait 6 months to a year before taking it.

If he moves forward without you & has his girl friend sit for him at least its not on YOU personally.

Many red flags here as Alexandra Lost pointed out above.

this is just my opinion & i am still a novice but i have seen 1st hand & heard enough from those with much more experience to form this opinion. I'd say stay away from this situation for now.

what does this person plan on using Ibo for?
how old is this person?
what is his or her health condition ?
have you ever sat for someone before  ?
do you have any basic ER training if something goes wrong.
Have you screened the hypothetical person you are considering sitting for ?
If something goes wrong or it turns out to be a fatal situation because of lack of experience on you're part
then what?
Ibogaine is not a game or a cure all, as i am sure you know by now.
This is about you're life as much as his, if something happens on your watch you may carry the guilt
regardless of the legal status in any country ?

& by all means i suggest his girl friend is no where near if you go forward with this.
Just my opinion .

We all have much more to learn on the subject.

It has been taken care of. Calm down ladies.

Lala is a lady the rest of us are almost all men which you know but make your sarcastic rude and insulting remarks every time you come on here.  Not a good example to be setting.

Hey Kampum you are one to talk about sarcastic, rude & insulting comments, Half the time i read you're responses I wonder how you have remained a mod on here as long as you have, I don't get it. Are you always like this do you just write sometimes without thinking about how you come across to others. You do give great advice at times but other times you e just come off like a know it all self righteous wanna be cyber shaman. You sure have a way with words but they are not gospel. Regardless of what you think you know or have been taught by others. Maybe you should Think before you start talking S**t or maybe its time for you to move on, perhaps you could be the next Dmitri or something he seems to be a sore spot for you ? The Muse / Psychedelic Drugs Don't Make People Crazy, Study Says
« on: August 22, 2013, 03:44:00 AM »

Contrary to what some anti-drug campaigns will have you believe, dropping acid probably isn't going to make you depressed or psychotic. In fact, psychedelics might actually be associated with better mental health, a new study finds.

Two neuroscientists from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology looked at associations between lifetime psychedelic use and mental health with data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health in the United States. More than 13 percent of the 130,152 randomly selected survey respondents reported they had used psychedelics like LSD, psilocybin, mescaline and peyote at least once in their life. The study found that psychedelic use wasn't significantly associated with serious psychological distress, receiving or needing mental health treatment or psychiatric symptoms.

The study didn't find any evidence for LSD flashbacks or hallucinations.Psychedelic users were likely to be younger, unmarried, and male, when compared to non-users. They were likely to have used a whole range of illicit drugs, and to have said they enjoy risk-taking. But they were not more likely to have lasting depression, anxiety or psychosis as a result of their drug use. Nor did the study find any evidence for LSD flashbacks or hallucinations.

The researchers did find some associations between psychedelic use and a lower rate of mental health issues, including lower rates of psychological distress, mental health treatment and psychiatric medication prescription. But, caveat: The associations were statistically fairly weak, and because it was a retrospective survey study, they couldn't determine whether it was a causal effect. "[T]hese results might reflect beneficial effects of psychedelic use, relatively better initial mental health among people who use psychedelics, or chance “false positive” findings," they write. Furthermore, they "cannot exclude the possibility that use of psychedelics might have a negative effect on mental health for some individuals or groups, perhaps counterbalanced at a population level by a positive effect on mental health in others," according to the study.

"Everything has some potential for negative effects, but psychedelic use is overall considered to pose a very low risk to the individual and to society," clinical psychologist and co-author Pål-Ørjan Johansen said in a press statement. "Psychedelics can elicit temporary feelings of anxiety and confusion, but accidents leading to serious injury are extremely rare."

LSD and psilocybin could have potential as treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder. These results are consistent with previous research showing that psychedelic use isn't generally dangerous, and can actually have several therapeutic applications. Studies have shown drugs like LSD and psilocybin could have potential as treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and alcoholism.

The study appears in PLOS ONE this week.
