Eboka Talk / Re: Intro/Strong warning to breastfeeding mothers!
« on: May 01, 2017, 11:41:29 PM »
I have to be honest - this is careless as anything. I can see absolutely no reason to touch iboga in any form while breastfeeding. Iboga(ine) isn't going anywhere, and there simply must be more consideration given to an optimal time...

I appreciate your honesty about this situation, knowing you may get some backlash - I am not here to do that but I am compelled to reiterate we are not a scientific/peer reviewed forum at all - nor are we affiliated with any research or scholastic bodies which could perform empirical research. What we have are sharp, good hearted people (lay mostly) discussing interpretations of subjective anecdote.

I have a good bit of experience to draw from, some of it unbelievably painful and dangerous - so I certainly don't mean to come off sharp. There are many reasons I can think of to suspend or postpone any work at all with iboga during such a crucial time, (even microdose amounts) - and not a single reason great enough to attempt navigating the unknown risks that surely must come with such endeavors. Do you really want to expose an infant to so many unknowns? Dmitri doubtless gets his perspective from his experiences in Gabon...I would wager that such is not uncommon in their tribal lives, and likely has far more impact/implications for their own society and people. These are folks who literally have iboga 'in the blood' and it could even be integral to a healthy 'diet' while breastfeeding. But under the circumstances it just seems it would behoove any non indigenous, Western cultured people to defer to prudence over experimentation.

General Discussion / Re: Forum or website idea?

Howdy mate!

I think it would be a fun project for you to spend some energies on dude :)  With your presence here and wherever else you kick it online, I'm sure you've gained the 'feel' regarding fundamentals of forum operations, at least insofar as the major Do's and Don'ts concerning the people side of things...Pkeffect is the Nerd around here so mayhap he will chime in with some tips on the technical elements [which thankfully are few using the SMF templates] of launching and maintaining a discussion board. My advice would be to look around at the various boards which are currently active and get a feel for which way the wind is blowing; like, which sites are most popular and what is it that makes them popular in contrast to other, similarly matched [concerning areas like aesthetics forum moderation, etc] places. Likely you already have membership at a few of these places - so you can approach your project from that angle - considering how you would improve/grow the current forum where you're participating as a 'regular guy'...

At any rate, I am sure whatever you choose to create it will be a fun and informational endeavor , and may you have the most success at your projects man! For myself, when pk opened the doors to Eboka in 2009, we never thought it would catch on like it did, and its been alive and breathing on its own since the first twelve months...before social media came along and tempted the trolls and shills to ever louder gasconades - this place was -at that one time - the largest English speaking forum in the world dedicated to iboga(ine) discussions and I was always proud to be a part of that distinction. So if cats like me and Joe can be a part of something as arguably neato as this, I'm certain to see great things emerging from the Mind of dustrust :) Poke around to see where the most action is, what kinds of things are talked about most what is it that people seem to like most about the key places where respectable discourse is encouraged and authenticity is valued....bring your own flavor and coolness to the show and maybe discover some way to create a unique model or other distinctiveness that has yet to engage the will be really cool to find out where you go with your ideas if you do decide to make something yourself. I hope you do :) Best of luck in all things mate and thanks as ever for being a part of this place ~Cal

General Discussion / Re: Took about 500-600 mg of TA

Solid stuff I-man!

Everything you say sounds right as rain my friend, it is always prudent to take these things incrementally as you are doing, especially if one is deliberating a deep change in a long held medicinal protocol [your Zyprexa for instance]

I am also with you re: gabapentin, you've done good homework...still, there are those I know of who would caution against any concomitant use of Neurontin and iboga, but in my experience they totally miss each other. I have found gabapentin useful following heavy ibo sessions. Good work mate keep us up :)

Hey man -

your reaction sounds exactly spot on to least that is about the response I have come to expect for myself from most TA's - I do not think you are especially refractory or that you need concern yourself about flood dosing insofar as not having enough on board. If you reacted so to the half gram you did, two and a half grams stacked closely together [within say 90 min to 2 hrs] should put you deep enough in 'the land' for your initial journey.

It is ALWAYS smart to proceed with the utmost caution with any form of this material, it can go south in a nano-second and then its all blue Mondays man. Ease into the Journey - so far so good, I like your approach its respectful of the Medicine and respectful of yourself as well. This is Good...

I would like to extend a word of caution to you friend, and that simply is: please just stick to the TA OR ibogaine for your flood [especially your first] do not mix them my experience - and it is substantial both in bio-assay and in sitting for others - this combination has proven to present the most problems, both in frequency and severity. Not to say its not a worthy endeavor, it is - but it is also the Grand Poo Bah mondo-mofa super trip, and actually IMO - for most purposes its basically unnecessary roughness...certainly I will almost always caution the neophyte away from such an experience in their first few outings with Eboka because using a good clean TA or Wood or ibogaine hydrochloride alone will always in itself do the trick if all is done correctly. Just saying - mitigate any and all unnecessary risks beforehand and widen your safety margin as much as possible - this will not only insure you have the best possible chance of clear clean hassle-free experience, it will also go far , I believe, with the Medicine itself because indeed showing such respect reflects fractally in the experience proper - the Wood likes it when we take such care in our preparations.

I am excited for you and I get a goodd feeling that you will do well with your explorations. Keep up the good attitdue and never ever rush anything around doing this - such things that seem to press us for time or interrupt our own 'schedules' regarding these ambitions - they are there for a reason I think. At least I have learned to treat these things so and any time I act outside of those principles I am sure as shit sorry....

Enough from the pulpit - thanks for being here man and keep the forum posted on your progress - Good vibes mate ~Cal

Announcements, News & Events / Vermont Considers Ibogaine Legislation
« on: April 25, 2015, 06:32:39 PM » - from a facebook group, this post raised my eyebrows...the mere notion that ANY high level State official(s) regard this medicine enough to risk openly advocating it [in any fashion] astonishes me. There must really be a severe opiate problem in Vermont, not that this is news to many other states, but the reality of the incumbent Governor's endorsement for a pilot program to assess the efficacy of so 'radical' a treatment leaves me ...befuddled frankly. By and large I am of the mind that most any 'news' regarding the use of ibogaine to treat addictions is 'good' - sometimes even negative press can still have a positive impact insofar as drawing attention to this model of treatment where otherwise a particular demographic would have perhaps been totally unaware - but this is beyond the pale. How likely is it such a program will receive the green-light? I wonder...this might truly be crack in the dam...they are proposing a pilot study to last three years, the specifics of which are still in development but they've a solid idea where to take it it seems. The target population is the refractory [opioid]  addicted person, who has tried unsuccessfully to eliminate their problem via any other sanctioned pharmacological/medical method.

It will be very interesting to keep close watch on this and see where it goes...even if it doesn't gain official sanction, the sheer [can I say it?] audacity, the Balls, for anyone in political office to propose this is almost crazy.

Introductions / Re: Questions?
« on: January 07, 2015, 07:55:44 AM »
Sorry for so late a response, and a belated welcome to you...if you're still here lol.  ;D

I have experience with Suboxone: it is a nasty, nasty, underhanded apparatus, that shit is.....totally engineered to do what it does, and in crazy ways that no other drug works, and when I first encountered it the idiot 'doctor' told me, with a straight face no less, that 'this isn't addictive' and blah blah. I wanted so bad to believe him that I kinda did and boy was I in for a surprise when I thought I'd had enough of this non addictive crap....not only is it addictive, it is insanely difficult to get away from cold turkey, and the WD lasts F O R E V E R....which all good addicts understand to be an absolute NO. Shit's bad enough man, without squeezing your nipple till its purple. It's a fucking conspiracy.

Anyway, your post was nice, showed you have done your homework and you ask very good questions...Hopefully by the time you see this, you are not still on 8mg a day, and have titrated down to a lesser daily intake. Once you reach 2mg/day [really before that but shhhh] you should be able to introduce pods to the equation.

Do this SLOWLY and carefully - people have died from poppy pods, poppy tea, even poppy seed tea - anything we get from nature will always have variance in quality, potency, alk content, etc...always, so be mindful. I will not advise you on a dose for pods, but your question was is it possible to roll over onto pods with reasonably low levels of hassle and discomfort, right? The answer is yes, just plug in to researching the do's and don'ts and again take it slowly.

I wish you all the luck in the world, hope you're still around! Cal  ;)

Well done bro - no shit, that was great!

Thanks for sharing here... I know it can be scary to put one's art 'out there' for all to see, takes some yarbles... kudos.

I have watched you grow quite a bit since we 'met' here man, and yea though we may have had differences and butted heads, isn't this a mark of healthy relationship when people stay close through such things?

Seems like maybe you're in some kind of process, and I like what you've shown us. Your presence here is a staple of the community dude.... Blessings man!
