Here's a nice salad I make -

Avocado, Kale, Tomatoes

Wash the kale, dice the tomatoes and avocado - throw it in a bowl, add some olive oil and pepper and then mash it all together with your hands.

Sometimes I put in diced red onion or spring onions as well.

It really depends on the individual style or system, but the general rule of thumb is start with weapons and move on to empty hands, but it doesn't always hold true. The basic movement will be the same - thought adjustments will be made whether it's impact weapon, edge weapon, improvised or empty handed.

I'd say if you've got a good feeling about KM go for that, another art that might interest you is Systema (Russian)

Never to late to start up again GD

Thanks for sharing achtwan, I've done a little bit BJJ myself and really enjoyed it, but overall I just focussed on escrima. Good luck with the purple belt test!

Here's a couple of escrima videos, see if they're your cup of tea Calaquendi ;)

Well the title gives it away, any one practice martial arts here?

I've been doing Escrima for about 5 years, though I don't really have lessons any more as my reasons for practicing have changed from when I first started.

Please excuse the cheesy title ;) I just have a few questions about how Iboga can be used to journey inwards for self-discovery and the best way to approach it -

If one has no experience of Iboga, what do you see as the best introduction - with the help of a facilitator or self-prepared with a sitter? What if you don't have access to a sitter?

Can you recommend practices that could be employed beforehand to get the most out of the experience? i.e. Setting intentions, fasting, meditation, breathing and physical exercise etc

Thanks in advance,

Great report Bancopuma, thanks for sharing it. Is the healer you worked with based in the UK?

Thanks for the warm welcome :) I really know next to nothing about Iboga, but something seemed to click when I saw Bancopuma's post. I wonder whether it's possible Iboga may have been one of our species first plant teachers ? given what the DNA research and Fossil record has shown about our origins in central/eastern Africa
