Compost Pile / Bringing in more members
« on: June 12, 2010, 12:53:49 AM »
So I was looking for ideas on how we might bring in more members?  I am looking for suggestions on things to improve our forum's ranking in search engines.  Maybe ideas on things we can do to get the forum to gather a bit more steam.  I'd like this forum to possibly be big enough with enough action daily that we have multiple daily posts about people getting treated or having incredible iboga experiences.

It's a very expensive plant, and those who want it for reasons are often discouraged by the price tag, but so many don't even realize the potential of even just small doses of iboga.  So how can we not only save drug addicts, but also help other people who may not perceive they have a serious enough problem for iboga?  Possibly more trip reports, testaments to the other things that iboga does besides help with addiction would help to bring it out into the open a bit more.  I realize the medical establishment may not want it to become more popular for normal use, and would probably restrict it's use to those needing addiction interruption, but I am of the feeling it should be used, along with other sacred medicines/tools, for healing.  Not limited to those who seek to control it's use.

So again, I am looking for ideas on how we can make this forum more popular.  I would also appreciate any information, articles, and scientific info anyone can find, compiled here so it can all be found in one space.  It will take spare time in locating and reading all the articles, and scientific journals we can find on it, but in the long run it should be more than worth it, since we'll all know where it all is, without searching multiple sites for the one article we read at another time.  What do you all think?

General Discussion / Ibogaine HCl vs. TA Extracts vs. Root Bark
« on: May 03, 2010, 08:18:56 PM »
I am making a poll to see which form of iboga most people prefer and why.  I would like to know, for those with experience, what are the major differences in effects between the three?

I would like to know anything you can tell me about potency, effectiveness, duration, after effects, etc.  Anything you can tell me about the differences or similarities would be wonderful for those who are looking to try it out.  Are there specific side effects with one or the others, are there benefits to using the full alkaloid mix, or not?  Also, are different things used if it's for spiritual purposes versus addiction interruption?

I realize we can only gather opinions, but I look forward to hearing about everyone's experiences.  Thanks!

General Discussion / Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum)?
« on: April 10, 2010, 12:32:27 PM »
Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum) is a succulent common to South Africa.

The traditionally prepared dried sceletium was often chewed and the saliva swallowed, but it has also been made into gel caps, teas and tinctures. It has also been used as a snuff and smoked.

Sceletium is known to elevate mood and decrease anxiety, stress and tension. It has also been used as an appetite suppressant by shepherds walking long distances in arid areas. In intoxicating doses it can cause euphoria, initially with stimulation and later with sedation. Users also report increased personal insight, interpersonal ease and a meditative, grounded feeling without any perceptual dulling. Having such properties Sceletium is classified as an empathogen type herb. Others have noted enhanced tactile and sexual response, as well as vivid dream inducing properties. High doses produce distinct inebriation and stimulation often followed by sedation. The plant is not hallucinogenic,[3] contrary to some literature on the subject, and no adverse effects have been documented. Kanna is considered a potentiator (enhancer of effects) for other psychoactive herbal material, such as Cannabis .
It contains numerous alkaloids-
notably Mesembrine,

which is claimed by a US patent to be a potent serotonin reuptake inhibitor with stronger antidepressant effects than imipramine. [Additionally] It is also believed to be a PDE4-inhibitor due to a strikingly similar chemical makeup and effects profile in comparison to rolipram

Sceletium tortuosum contains about 1-1.5% total alkaloids. There is about 0.3% mesembrine in the leaves and 0.86% in the stems of the plant.

Wonder how this would be after Iboga?  Might cause serotonin syndrome too close with iboga..  Anyone have any experience with it?

Okay, so folks, I did my flood dose on march 2nd, and then about 2-300 mgs of alks once a week, up until last Wednesday.  I have LSD, 2.6 grams of bridgesii extract, some 2cb, some ketamine and some DMT, so I am wondering if/when any of these would be safe to take?  I have no strong desire to do any drugs, but on occasion, as my body is coming back online, I am getting the desire to trip.  Now I wanna be safe, and don't wanna interfere with my recovery, but as I start to feel more normal, and better, I am noticing the urge to trip.  If anyone has any hard data as to why or how long I should wait, I'd love to hear, and am open to suggestions as well.  Thanks everyone for your time!

Introductions / Saying Hello!
« on: January 19, 2010, 03:13:06 PM »
Hello everyone, I am new here, but Calaquendi is a friend, and I have a bit of experience with iboga.  I kicked a heroin/oxy to methadone habit in 04 with iboga, but broke my collar bone and am now healed as well as I can be, and fighting an addiction to pods.  I will be doing iboga again, soon, and will pop in here as often as possible to help out, and share my experiences.  Hello Eboka Forum!
