I actually died from iboga and was dead for 35 minutes from it, so now I have an anoxic brain injury from it!  I destroyed my basal ganglia, so now have spasticity from it and I I also have Parkinson's symptoms from it, too!

Go for it just you might want to get an EKG beforehand so you don't die like I have!

I was first treated by Sara Glatt.

Flooding / Re: Is 1g TA too low for me?

Probably it usually takes 3-4 grams to work!

Yeah alot has changed for me!  I got addicted again to percocet they put me on when I fell and broke my wrist after Furthur tour 2012.   I wanted to get clean and decided to flood.  It caused me to have cardiac arrest  I died for 35 minutes and now have brain damage from a dose of ibogaine.  I apparently had a long QT wave I didn't know about and it stopped my heart and it took 8 shocks with the paddles to  bring me back.  I was in a coma for 40 days  and they put me on methadone , both of which weakened my bones so when I stood up at the end of the bed I broke my left hip just standing. I went to visit my kids I fell and shattered my femur then while on leave from rehab I was pivoting wrong and broke my right hip!  I was non-weight bearing for 6 months last year.  But now I took up vaping instead of smoking cigarettes and my lungs are much clearer !  So I vape weed and I'm down to 1.25 mgs of methadone. They put me on 75 mgs while I was in my coma but I will be off in a couple weeks and I am actually feeling okay!  I never thought I'd be able to do it without ibogaine but I am almost there!

It's 3200 mgs /67 kg, which equals 47.76119402985075 mg of extract (47.76 mg)..  Without knowing the purity of the TA in question, though, we can only guesstimate the actual dose.

With TA, you have probably 1/2 to as much as 2/3 actual ibogaine, with 1/2 to 1/3 other mixed alkaloids, which have slightly different metabolisms and effects..  Also, even very good quality TA's will still likely have some impurities that are not active or alkaloids.  So if the TA was 80% alkaloids, then 3.2 grams would actually be only 2.56 grams of alkaloids.  And likely around half of that or slightly more is the actual alkaloid ibogaine.  80% pure alkaloids is being generous, too, as some IW's tested around 60-70% pure, if I recall correctly.. So if half of that 2.56 was ibogaine HCl, then you actually would have taken about 1.28 g of ibogaine HCl, and 1.28 g of other mixed iboga alkaloids, such as ibogamine, tabenanthine, voacangine, etc, with 0.64 g inert plant matter/fats/waxes..

Since those alkaloids do have effects that can effect the trip, they must also be considered when dosing, but they won't give the same effects or pack the same punch as the ibogaine HCl.  With all this variation in plant material, it makes it very hard to get an exact determination on your dosage, and it's the exact reason many providers and medical facilities will only use 98-99% ibogaine HCl, so there is much less of the unknown variables.

Now, I have thought that having those other alkaloids on board can add to the experience, but they do also cause reactions that pure ibogaine HCl does not.  Ibogaine HCl is in and out of your system much faster than the mix of alkaloids.  It can seem a bit more intense, because I think some of the other alkaloids not only take place of some of the ibogaine, but I think they also ease the come up and come down a bit.  They also seem to cause more ataxia, and they give me the shakes pretty bad sometimes..

I am beginning to think that using Ibogaine HCl for the main part of the flood, and using just a little TA to supplement as needed, is the best way to detox..  You could take something like 15mg/kg of ibogaine HCl, then add TA at 5mg/kg and you'd likely have the perfect experience, judging from your past experiences.  But that is just a guesstimate from what little I know of your previous experience, so you also have to listen to your own mind and body, and adjust things as you see fit.

Xanax is okay with ibo, but leave the clonidine alone, as it effects blood pressure, and the loperamide won't be necessary, if you get a decent microdose.  I have detoxed over a week by taking 2-6 grams of root bark each day.  It took a week to get back on my feet and feeling comfy, but it never got too intense, and the worst withdrawal I experienced was some minor diarrhea, and hot/cold flashes, but they were lessened greatly..  The Xanax should help a lot with minor withdrawal, and will help take the edge off the iboga trip..  Best of luck!

General Discussion / Re: has anyone actually recovered?
« on: August 09, 2013, 06:58:57 PM »
I beat an addiction with a single large dose of iboga.  I walked away from a 6-7 year addiction to opiates/methadone, and was clean for 5 years, until I was injured and put on pain meds.  But even then I never went overboard with them, and used iboga again to easily quit.

After that first dose, I quit smoking cigarettes for 3 years.  I quit eating sweets, drinking soda, and using all hard/addictive drugs..  If I hadn't found iboga, I am sure my life would have went a much different direction.  It's a miracle, but it does take some effort to maintain your sobriety.  Iboga just gets you through the intense physical and mental withdrawal, as well as give you insights into your addiction, but it does not automatically change your lifestyle.

It can make a healthy lifestyle much more desirable, but it's up to you to stick with the program.  It kinda sits on your shoulder for a few weeks, and let's you know what is good and not so good for you, but it's up to you to choose the healthy choices..  So, just don't go into iboga expecting a cure all, because it still takes work, however, after 7 clinical detoxes of differing methods, a few cold turkeys, and finally full on methadone addiction, iboga took away all the most difficult withdrawal, and any/all cravings I had for it for weeks, or months.

Then once I felt all better, around 2 months clean, I felt as if I had never used.  Only the first week or so was a little difficult, but no tougher than any of the clinical detoxes.  Although, when I left to go home, my minor symptoms didn't get a lot worse, like had always happened when I'd left every other detox.  It actually got easier each and every day.  My recovery was remarkably fast, considering the fact that after my first clinical detox I only stayed clean for 3 weeks, plus the week I was in detox on their drug cocktail, and I had never felt as good as with the iboga only two short weeks later..

After one month without dope, using the traditional method of detox, I still could not sleep, had occasional but fairly regular goosebumps, constant cravings, and sniffles, or runny nose the whole time.  After one month from eating the iboga, I felt almost no withdrawal symptoms at all, and I was only lacking a bit of energy.  I felt good, and was into a normal eating/sleeping pattern, and was just a little run down or tired, and lacking some motivation.

By the end of the second month, I was out riding my skateboard, playing with the kids, and running around the country to music festivals and GD related concerts..  So, for me, iboga was definitely the key to unlocking my potential, and it showed me that it was possible.  Without it, I doubt I'd be here typing to you today..  So yes, I actually recovered, and have used it to walk away from pain meds for injuries a couple times, as well.  I definitely stand by the iboga detox for anyone who has tried many other ways but failed, and is safe, physically, to do the iboga..

I get diarrhea after an iboga experience for a few days to a week, every time I've used it to kick.  You sure you have to taper, since there is no mental withdrawal?  If you just have to deal with the shits for a week or two, that doesn't seem all that horrible..  Just have to make sure you drink plenty of clear fluids so you don't get dehydrated..

Welcome to Eboka!  This song came to mind when reading this thread, so I'll copy and paste it here:

Lyrics: Robert Hunter
Music: Jerry Garcia

Saw a bird with a tear in his eye
Walking to New Orleans my oh my
Hey, now, Bird, wouldn't you rather die
Than walk this world when you're born to fly?

If I was the sun, I'd look for shade
If I was a bed, I would stay unmade
If I was a river I'd run uphill
If you call me you know I will
If you call me you know I will

    Ooo, freedom
    Ooo, liberty
    Ooo, leave me alone
To find my own way home
To find my own way home

Say what I mean and I don't give a damn
I do believe and I am who I am
Hey now Mama come and take my hand
Whole lotta shakin' all over this land

If I was an eagle I'd dress like a duck
Crawl like a lizard and honk like a truck
If I get a notion I'll climb this tree
or chop it down and you can't stop me
Chop it down and you can't stop me

    Ooo, freedom
    Ooo, liberty
    Ooo, leave me alone
To find my own way home
To find my own way home

Went to the well but the water was dry
Dipped my bucket in the clear blue sky
Looked in the bottom and what did I see?
The whole damned world looking back at me

If I was a bottle I'd spill for love
Sake of mercy I'd kill for love
If I was a liar I'd lie for love
Sake of my baby I'd die for love
Sake of my baby I'd die for love

    Ooo, freedom
    Ooo, liberty
    Ooo, leave me alone
To find my own way home
To find my own way home
I'm gonna find my own way home

Eboka Journals / Re: I think iboga can ruin your life.
« on: February 12, 2013, 01:22:50 AM »
Skywalker, you came on here, and basically are insulting people that you don't agree with.  You don't like the way you perceive that they are treating TANYA, but in that same paragraph, insult the people who you wrongly put on a pedestal in the first place.  I agree a few of these responses seem like knee jerk defensiveness against some people's sacrament, and I think some of these posts could have been more tactful.

However, Cal summed it up nicely.  We don't believe that she has permanently worsened her life with iboga.  No one is claiming to be enlightened. and being enlightened doesn't necessarily mean that you can't disagree with someone.  Several of us have made compassionate responses, such as JBG, Cal, myself, and KP even suggested a way to help her find what she is seeking from us on the forum, if that is what she wants to do.

And for that info about ibogaine staying in your system for months, that doesn't occur unless you take a sizable dose.  You'd be lucky to have iboga metabolites in your system 8 months after a treatment, as most people don't feel it after two or three, and many not even after a few weeks..

TANYA, please don't get defensive, or feel attacked, we just are trying to point out issues with your statement that iboga can "ruin your life".  Aside from death, none of the effects are permanent, and when you take into consideration all the points brought up about your former medications, and the way you quit them, there really is no way that we can fault iboga for any of your issues, even if it has actually exacerbated some symptoms.

I know that for healing during a trip, it usually requires being presented with some issue, that gets increasingly worse as the trip kicks in harder and harder.  When you reach the breaking point, with proper training/dosage/medicine, one lets go, and every problem comes into focus, and solutions are presented.  It's amazing, honestly.  But if you never take enough to reach that point, then all you experience is the crisis, and the negative feelings.  Your micro-dosing was likely doing just that, which scared you away, and that is why wayward suggested taking a full flood.  However, judging from your mind set and your psyche, most of us recommend against it, because we are not sure if you can handle it..

If there is any way we can help you or you just want to chat about iboga, you have to be willing to listen as well as post, and take into consideration that some of your blanket statements may come under scrutiny.  It's not an attack on you, just an attack on misinformation.  I hope you are not offended and you don't go away upset, because I am sure most of us DO care about your well-being, we just don't agree with where you place the blame for your issues.  Good luck!

I'm here to provide careful and honest information, clear up hand-waving and pseudoscientific hogwash, and help everyone get to the bottom of this - meaning find out what there is to be gained from iboga et al.
I'm a scientist. I'm thoroughly appalled by what I see pass as "common knowledge" on these forums.

What exactly are you calling hand-waving and pseudoscientific hogwash?  And what is this "common Knowledge" that you are appalled at?  I like to think that we take a scientific approach to iboga and the available information on this forum.

As for the spiritual side of things, there is no science that can fully explain the experience, and what people gain from some of the mental and spiritual aspects of iboga.  With that being said, I think it's good to keep an open mind about things science can't prove or disprove..

When someone introduces themselves as someone who is here to "set the record straight" and dispel "hogwash", it comes off as very condescending, like our members views and opinions are somehow less important or less "right" than your own.  If that is how you feel, I'd like to know exactly what you are talking about..
