Beliefs regarding Bwiti
« on: June 14, 2015, 11:16:34 AM »
Some people believe that the presence one sometimes feel when flooding ibogaine is literally the spirit of the plant, also known as Bwiti. Others believe it is some kind of construct made by our psyche. Others have different interpretation and yet others are unsure. What do you believe?

Feel free to elaborate.

I believe all these ideas to be true. The divine thrives within the paradox.

Personally I encountered a spirit or a consciousness separate from my own that was communicating and expressing love and forgiveness to me. Now whether or not this was a construct of my psyche makes little difference to me. It could have very well have been "all in my head". However, it had a very great impact on me, and as I have gotten older, I have come to see the line between what is real and not real blurred to the point of no differentiation. Things are only temporarily concrete. The only world we know is that of our own consciousness.

None of the above.

I believe the plant is acting as a *mediator* for a much larger spirit/s. The spirit of the Earth, the spirit of Africa, the energy of the dawn of man, of evolution, of the divine masculine, the spirits of our ancestors, etc.

We are not experiencing the plant, in the same way that we are not experiencing our neurotransmitters. The plant, the neurotransmitters are *mediators* of a much much larger experience.

I agree with RP above^.
For me it is a channel to truth, wisdom & god.
I also agree the spirit of the plant is in there, but it acts unselfishly as a route to the real.
Either way or however you feel about it,  it's fkin powerful  ;D
