Eboka = Music/Dance
« on: February 09, 2016, 08:41:58 PM »
The following is written to me by a relatively well-known Pygmy music enthusiast. Names are withheld.

"Hi _____, thank you for writing me. I haven't come across any Bwiti rituals because that is mainly in Gabon, where I have not been. I have, however, been aware of Bwiti for a long time and even had some music from an all-night Bwiti ritual. The music is extraordinarily beautiful. One interesting point is that in Gabon iboga is called eboka, and where I live the word eboka in the Ba'aka language means music/dance. However, the Ba'aka claim not to know about iboga."
