A recent injury and a recent reuse of opiates
« on: March 21, 2010, 08:22:31 AM »
Hello dear friends ,
I wanted to make note of a recent trip to the emergency room .  I wasnt paying attention and had a hishap at work and burned both my hands very badly (2nd almost 3rd degree). Due to the extraordinary pain envolved i had to go to the emergency room where I was shot up twice with my old pal Dilaudid . I was very worried about this having a major effect on my staying sober since a very successful flood last December , whereas i have been opiate free ever since . Untill last Friday .
After my visit i was taking 60 then 40 mg of percocet a day up untill three days ago(going on 4).
I am doing very well though . Some slight discomfort and cravings the day my script ran out but i have really bounced back .
Better than i have ever could have expected .
I plan on doing a bit of a clean up boost with a bit of root bark i have left also .
I just wanted to do a quick post to disclose my situation and how worried I was that things were going to be back in that deep , dark end of the pool we all know so well.
Much to my suprise i am doing great , healing well and in good spirits.
Dont give up you all .
We are all stronger than we know and together we are mighty mighty .
Dream the dream , live it & share it .
I believe in you .
Mahalos,
HP

Thanks for sharing harvey. We all love you brother! I'm sorry you got hurt man, and I'm glad to hear you are doing okay - I know how it is to get off the painkillers and then have a need to take them again. It can be damned slippery, it was for me - but you sound like you have a good energy about this. These experiences are really valuable to have out there, because it hits an important area that many may have to encounter. Seeing how someone negotiates it can encourage others likewise. Good to hear from you and I hope you heal quickly bro!

hey bro,im wishing you all the best on a speedy recovery.
i think your head, intention, and heart are all in the right place.
do what you have to do to manage your pain, and keep putting one foot
in front of the other, and walk your path, with your mighty ally....eboka!

godspeed to you.
raise your fears and cast them all away...
